Some of my favourite shots

I've spent the night posting landscape photography and scrolling through all my street photography. Most of these I will have posted somewhere before but lost count of where and when. Love them or hate them, to me these are brilliant. It a great genre of photography, taking a chance and deleting many to get that... Continue Reading →

Catching up on street photography

As I write this I am sat in the kitchen having a beer after a really hectic morning. A 5am early start as I wanted to try out my new Fujifilm xa-5 on the city lights and then the dreaded shopping in Leeds followed by the big food shop at the supermarket. We call it... Continue Reading →

A weekend in York

Having never really spent time in York and wanting to see a statue of Constantine (a Yorkshire man) who became the leader of the world as we know it. We travelled to the northern city to walk the streets and I secretly had an idea of taking some candid photography. A great day out and... Continue Reading →

Saturday mornings & street photos

Every now and then, I venture into the city centre on a Saturday out of necessity. It gets a little mad in Leeds with the drug addicts walking around like zombies on spice and the homeless in the doorways trying to survive. You could get stopped by anyone touting some doctrine or other too. It... Continue Reading →

Street photography and Sean

Street photography is really about stepping outside of the comfort zone and greeting people in an open way. I was walking with my wife and caught the perfect shot, one weekend in Bridlington. To be honest, she gets a little embarrassed that I would walk up to a stranger and ask to take their portrait.... Continue Reading →

The story so far

Work commitments, travel and spending far too much time on Facebook and Twitter 🙄 It's easy to lose track and motivation for doing a blog and so I thought I'd post a few. Placing my... Pigeon Pete in Bridlington

Every now and then I capture a special moment in time that I believe 'they' say is a keeper.  I took this shot a while back. Some time in 2019, but I can't remember when or what date. I suppose I could look up the file and tell you what iso and all that, but it's... Continue Reading →

Star gazing in North Yorkshire.

I've always had a fascination for stars and love the thought of life out there in some form.  This show was taken on the Nikon with an affordable Yongnuo 50mm lens.  To be honest I did try with the stock lens and failed miserably. It pants at night photography.I keep on going back and looking... Continue Reading →

Bempton Cliffs and Yorkshire

I have travelled to a lot of places and seen many a sunset or dramatic landscape but always return to my homeland. The following shots are from where I live and will always have a sense of complete awe, for the beautiful county of Yorkshire.©Lucas Thompson-Murphy

The cat of the house

We've had our at about 15 years and she has been a pleasure and a pain. Just like any child would be. I remember picking her up from a rescue centre all those years ago. Love her to bits though. ©Lucas Thompson-Murphy
